Overview

In the midst of an auspicious time for The Spice House–one that included a rebrand, a store reopening, new product innovations and a shift from brick-and-mortar to online sales–the brand looked to Skoog to guide its efforts and amplify its reach.

Brand Relaunch

Our first order of business was to communicate The Spice House’s new brand identity to its target audiences. To that end, we developed a brand messaging architecture and social content strategy, as well as a series of bite-sized videos–perfect for sharing on social platforms. On the PR side, we helped TSH develop key media relationships and secure placements in premium national publications. To raise awareness at a more grassroots level, we supplemented our traditional press outreach with a strategic influencer gifting campaign.

Flatpack Campaign

The Spice House’s next major initiative was marketing its new Flatpack product packaging. Skoog helped TSH capitalize on this innovation by producing a series of videos, blog posts and emails touting the Flatpack’s benefits. Meanwhile, our PR team coordinated a paid influencer campaign that generated additional awareness around the Flatpack–as well as original assets for the brand to use in its own advertising.

Store Reopening

The reopening of The Spice House’s Old Town Chicago store offered the perfect opportunity to elevate the brand’s physical presence to match its online efforts. Skoog made sure the reopening event was a memorable one, helping TSH plan an evening that included Robert Houde Wines, a special curated menu from chef Richie Farina of The Trotter Project and the ability for guests to create their own “spice story” in a custom spice mixing activity.
